So, the pictures above aren't from any single occassion. They are just some cute photos that I wanted to share with you! Gracie is growing and changing so quickly, that Drew and I are just trying to savor every moment with her. She may be two now, but she is still loads of fun! The terrible-twos show up every now and again, however, Gracie is still an amazingly well-behaved little girl. We are so thankful!!!
Drew and I are amazed on a daily basis by Gracie's expanding vocabulary. She will throw out new words every day. Some words we even puzzle over. Where is she learning them? While her vocab may be growing, she is still a baby. Her words sometimes require subtitles.
Mot = milk
Peas = please
Ku = thank you
Abed = bed
Fosser = Foxer (my nickname for Roxy)
She is also starting to piece together two and three word sentences. When she is ready to get out of her high chair, she says, "Down, please," or "Wan (want) down, please." Grace is also good at identifying things out of context. She may read about something in a book one day,then identify something from the book on the TV or outside the next. We've always heard people say that babies are sponges. They weren't lying!
Another milestone that Gracie, Drew, and I hit was Gracie's first trip without us. With my mom recovering from knee-replacements surgery, babysitting has become a challenge. My dad cares for Grace as often as he can, but we don't want him to get to worn out. Margie, my wonderful mother-in-law, has been travelling down from Tehachapi for a day or two every week to help out. Last week, Margie came down Monday and Tuesday to watch Grace. On Tuesday afternoon, Gracie went back to Tehachapi with her Grammy. Naturally, I cried. We got through it, but it was difficult. I think the next trip will be much easier. Gracie had a wonderful time in Tehachapi. Not only did she bond with her Grammy and Gramps, she also got to know her Aunt Shelbey and big cousin Landon!
I heart your child!! =)
