Gracie started preschool!! Drew and I decided quite a while ago that we were going to enroll Grace in our church's 2-year-old preschool program. While Gracie loves spending time with her Memaw and Papa, Mama and Daddy, she was definitely getting restless. Thus, she is now attending preschool two days a week. She loves it!
Gracie is such a big girl now. She even has her very own back-pack. She calls it her pack. =) We bought it for her the night before she started school. She was so excited that she insisted on wearing it while we were still in the store. These days, she doesn't much like to have her picture taken, but she was more than happy to model her new pack for us. It was quite funny the next day when Gracie put her pack on to leave for school. It was loaded with diapers, clothes, wipes, and a stuffed animal. When we first put it on her, she nearly toppled over!
Since starting school is a huge milestone, Drew and I both took time off from teaching summer school so we could take Gracie on her first day. It was such a special experience getting to drop her off that day. We started by taking her into the office to say hi to the director, Nancy (Nancy is a close family friend. Having her running the school is such a comfort!). After we said hi, it was time to drop Gracie off in the play yard. Since she had no idea that we were about to leave, she was really happy to see sand, swings, and playhouses. She immediately wanted to run around and show us all of the toys. We stayed for a while, attempted to leave, went back, then finally left Gracie playing in the sand. One of the teachers, Molly, later told me that Gracie would look around once in a while and say, "Mommy?" Molly said she'd just distract Gracie and she'd be fine!
So far, it looks like Gracie is loving school. Now that Drew and I are off for the next month, we get to take her and pick her up every day!
So PRECIOUS!!! I would have balled my eyes out!! She so cute and I love the blog! Thanks for the update. =)
