My two greatest blessings!
Happy new year, everyone! I don't know about your experiences, but 2011 was a roller coaster year for my family. We had one of the greatest blessings bestowed upon us when Jackson was born. We also had to deal with another health scare involving my dad. However, that also turned into a blessing when his health resolved itself. My dad has survived to see another Christmas and the start of another year. Oh, the highs and lows!
As 2011 came to a close, I got a little wistful. I felt like I had to say good-bye to a part of Jackson's childhood as his birth year became a part of the past. Silly, I know, but it's true. Luckily, I pulled myself out of my mini-funk when I remembered that there are many exciting moments to come. My daughter turns 5 this year. Really, where does the time go? Jackson will see his first birthday in a mere 7 months. I have the rest of the school year with my AVID students. In June, I will get to see their four years of hard work pay off when they walk at their graduation. I'm working part-time for the rest of this school year so I have more time to spend with my babies. See? There's lots of good stuff to come!
I hope that 2012 is a blessed year for all of us! I pray that whatever turmoil we may face, that we will come out of it stronger and happier. So, happy new year, friends and family!
